single malt scotch and cigars
i got started on scotch quite a while ago in university. a few of us had expressed interest in tasting some scotch and others had already been down the path. most of us had tried glenfiddich but who hasn't? so we decided to meet up at a bar that had a good selection of single malts and progressed from there. the scotch club was formed. over the years my collection has grown and i have sampled many a different scotch. it certainly is an acquired taste.
i've also started to enjoy some cigars. nikki got me a humidor and some dominican cigars to start things off. i've added a box of cuban cigars to the mix too. very nice. if you're gonna keep cigars, a humidor is a must otherwise yoru cigars will dry out and taste like shit.
jan. 25, 1759 was robbie burns' birthday. he's a highly celebrated scottish poet known mostly for his poem "auld lang syne" sung at new year's to bring in the new year. his birthday is celebrated by drinking scotch, eating haggis and enjoying all things scottish. i ask that you enjoy some fine single malt scotch on this day. i certainly will be.

single malt
a single malt scotch uses only one malt during the distilling process. blended scotches use a combination of different malts. some people are of the opinion that single malts are better, but there are some fine blends out there as well as some crappy single malts.
