dodge dakota quad cab fuel efficiency page
hey, thought i'd put up a page listing the various gas mileage calculcations i've been doing for my dodge dakota since i bought it. it will be interesting to follow the different mileage i get out of it as i make changes to the truck over the years.
here are the results so far (unleaded, octane rating in brackets). due to the heat wave we have going on here (47 deg C with the humidity!!!) the a/c has been blasting most of the time.

quite interesting eh? it seems that premium gas actually made the efficiency worse. the installation of the hard tonneau cover helped the efficiency nicely. the impact is seen most when the majority of the driving is highway. well see the mileage change as more mods are added. new t-stat, air intake, exhaust etc...

cost of gas
man... with a 91 liter tank, the cost of filling up can be quite large. the more efficient your engine can be, the more money you save. however, the price of gas seems to fluctuate nicely with the long holidays and weekends. it's total crap i say. currently it's costing me approx $50 CDN to fill up (approx. 72 liters) each time. i have not run the tank dry yet... i'll wait until i get the tonneau cover and can drive around with a 5L gas can in the back. heh heh.
